How it Started

A ridiculous idea and zero backup plan.

Backroad District Apparel started the way most good things do — with a ridiculous idea and zero backup plan. We opened our virtual doors in September 2020 because we believed a graphic tee with the right saying is the closest thing to a universal language. Turns out, we were right.

Our tees are unisex, our humor is unapologetic, and our sizing goes up to 6XL on custom orders — because we don't believe your size should be the reason you don't get the shirt you want.

The Journey

From storefront to everywhere.

For a while we had a real storefront — a shared space in Holden, MO where other small businesses rented shelves and built something together. We called that community The Collective. The building's gone but the community isn't. We brought everything online and honestly? We think we're better for it. More people, fewer commutes.
